Ahead of snowfall, PDD issues circular for swift action | KNO

Srinagar, Jan 04 (KNO): As response to the recent weather advisory, the Chief Engineer (Distribution) Kashmir has issued a circular urging preparedness and swift action to address potential power disruptions caused by snowfall. According to the Meteorological Department’s forecast, snowfall is expected between January 4 and January 6, 2025. The office of the Chief Engineer (Distribution) Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited, in a circular issued, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), states that the Chief Engineer stressed the need for proactive measures to ensure a continuous power supply and the quick restoration of electricity during potential outages. “Subordinate offices have been directed to deploy sufficient field staff in areas that were severely impacted by last year’s snowfall. The department has also stressed the importance of adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during the restoration process,” the circular reads. In addition, all offices must maintain continuous communication with the Nodal Officer, providing hourly updates on the status of power feeders to ensure efficient coordination and response to any disruptions—(KNO)
